Birds of Prey Director Wants to See Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn Together in a Sequel

Birds of Prey might not have been a huge success in the box office but it does have a lot of fans and it did eventually make its money back. The film's digital release has also garnered a ton of new viewers, making it a popular DC movie that fans actually want to see a sequel to. While Birds of Prey 2 has yet to be announced, director Cathy Yan does want to see one thing from it; Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

The two have become a fairly popular LGBTQ couple in DC Comics and fans were really hoping to see some sort of tease to it in Birds of Prey. That ended up not being the case but Yan does want to explore their relationship in a sequel, which is great news. The director did a great job at developing Harley into her own woman who doesn't need Joker so seeing her explore the romance between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy has a lot of us excited.

"I would love to see Poison Ivy and I would certainly love to see the relationship between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. I think people aren't ready to let go of Harley Quinn quite yet and you know, Margot I don't think is ready to let go of Harley Quinn yet either."

We still don't know if we'll get a sequel since there doesn't appear to be a long-term plan for the DCEU, unlike the MCU. Still, we did get quality movies like Shazam and Aquaman so here is hoping that they make a Birds of Prey 2 soon. Right now, Birds of Prey is now available on all digital stores.
