Billy Dee Williams On Lando’s Appearance In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Lucasfilm dropped the very first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX during the film's panel at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration in Chicago this weekend, and fans couldn't be even more excited. Not only did the trailer unveil the film's official name – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – it also dropped quite a number of exciting reveals, including Lando (Billy Dee Williams) returning to fly the Millennium Falcon together with Chewie.

Now, taking to social media, Billy Dee Williams celebrates his return by sharing two photos comparing his time in the Falcon in 1983 movie Star Wars:Return of the Jedi and in 2019. The excitement on the suave Star Wars smuggler looks the same, even after all this time.

Check it out down below:

For those who aren't familiar with the character (and we doubt that those reading this article don't know Lando Calrissian), Williams first played Lando in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in the 1980s. He reprised the role in the film's sequel, Return of the Jedi. After that, he kept away from Star Wars films, though he did lend his voice to Lando in quite a number of videogames and animated series like Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Battlefront II.

Right now we're not quite sure how significant Lando's role might be in The Rise of Skywalker, but we hope that it's going to make up for the time that he's been missing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and of course, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
