Billy and Freddy Test Out Powers in 3-Minute Clip for Shazam!

The Chinese trailer for Shazam! had just recently dropped with some fresh new footage from the film, but now we have an official clip from the movie with Billy and Freddy trying to test out the range of Shazam's powers.

The fun thing about Shazam! is, though it's a superhero origin movie, it has a special comedy twist to it, even going so far as pulling off some meta jokes. Besides the bit where Billy talks about not knowing how to pee in the suit, the latest international trailer has Billy making fun of Sivana for going on a supervillain monologue and he can't hear him say anything from far away.

Going back to the clip though, I love the chemistry between Billy and Freddy in the film. Jack Dylan Grazer was one of the funniest kids in the IT reboot, and I can't wait to see him be Shazam's pseudo-sidekick in this film. While I expect a lot of screentime to go to Levi, I'm also eager to see how Billy Batson actor Asher Angel plays the role. If the movie can convince me that Angel and Levi are the same people, then I would already be sold.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM! - this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.

Shazam! hits theaters April 5.
