Ben Mendelsohn Says Rogue One Reshoots Were Just Part Of His Star Wars Experience

There is little doubt that working on a Star Wars film is a dream come true for most actors. Interestingly, Ben Mendelsohn has revealed that much of his experience consisted of reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Mendelsohn recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where he opened up about having to do some reshoots for Rogue One with Tony Gilroy, who had previously stated that the production was in "terrible trouble." The Robin Hood star explained that it was all just part of the creative process.

"It was just a case, from my point of view, that they were going to be working multiple units. [Director] Gareth [Edwards] was writing and then he would come and film some things and Tony was shooting his material. To me, it's a collaborative business, and this was just business as usual, and I'm so proud of that one."

It's pretty obvious that Mendelsohn is proud to be a part of a Star Wars film. The Bloodline star admitted that playing a villainous role in Rogue One is the true highlight of his career for a rather obvious reason.

"Playing Orson Krennic in Rogue One and being able to say that I built the Death Star, who else can say that? You can't top it," Mendelsohn said.

Mendelsohn is certainly having fun playing baddies in major films. He has previously appeared as Nolan Sorrento in Ready Player One and is set to antagonize Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick Captain Marvel. The Darkest Hour actor is expected to voice the villain in the animated flick Spies in Disguise next year.
