Ben Affleck Reportedly Back To Training For Matt Reeve’s The Batman

There's been a whole lot of uncertainty surrounding Ben Affleck's tenure as Batman in Warner Brother's burgeoning DC Extended Universe. Some days reports say the award-winning filmmaker plans to hang up his cape as the DCEU's Dark Knight. Other days word comes out that Affleck wants to stay and keep his role as the Caped Crusader.

Today, rumor has it that Affleck is currently training to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeve's The Batman.

An unnamed source who claims to be "close to the actor/director" has just told Hollywood Life that Affleck has a renewed commitment to his role in the DCEU and that the actor is now getting back into shape so that he can work on The Batman.

According to the source, Affleck found a renewed sense of faith in the DCEU after seeing the work Warner Brothers has been doing on Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movie. Now, the actor has a reinvigorated desire to play Batman in Reeve's upcoming project.

"He is back in shape not only for his health but he has a new-found love on doing Batman at least one more time again," the source told the publication. "He feels he isn't finished with what he wants to do with the character. There has been a talk about replacing him, but he is now seeing what he might lose and really wants to play the character again. Especially seeing what Joaquin Phoenix is doing with the Joker character."

Though fans have to take the report with a grain of salt, if the rumor is proven true, then fans will definitely be happy to hear that Affleck's back on track for The Batman. Though the DCEU has had trouble finding its foothold before with films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, fans had a lot of great things to say about the actor's rendition of the Dark Knight, saying that Batfleck might be the most comic book accurate version of the hero to date.

The Batman has yet to receive a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get a word.
