Ben Affleck Opens Up About Batman V Superman and Justice League

Ben Affleck always seemed to be uncomfortable about being Batman for the DCEU, with reports claiming that he wanted to leave after reviews for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice came out. Affleck then agreed to stay on for a bit longer, agreeing to work on Justice League and maybe even direct a solo Batman movie. Unfortunately, things fell apart and Affleck left after working on Justice League, with Robert Pattinson now playing the character.

Speaking with GQ, Affleck opened up about his experience with the DCEU and it seems like the actor is doing just fine not being there. In the interview, Affleck admitted that he actually liked working on Batman V Superman with director Zack Snyder, though he admitted that Justice League suffered from one problem to another. While he didn't burn any bridges here. It's clear that Justice League wasn't good for him.

"I had a better time on Batman v Superman, which I really enjoyed doing, and Justice League was, unfortunately, touched by some personal tragedy and death in Zack's family and, like I say, sometimes things work and gel and sometimes they just seem to be having one problem after another."

Now that Warner Bros has learned from their mistakes, it seems like The Batman will be better than both of those movies, though it's a shame that Ben Affleck won't be returning. A lot of comic book fans really liked his version of an elderly Batman and it would have been fun seeing him kick butt.

The Batman is currently scheduled for a June 2021 release.
