Batman Will Reportedly Be Missing In DC’s Birds Of Prey

The gears for Birds of Prey's production have already begun turning, and while the roles for Huntress and Black Canary have already been filled in, word has it that Ben Affleck's Batman might be missing from the all-girl superhero movie.

According to a Twitter user claiming to be a Hollywood writer, there is a line in the upcoming Birds of Prey comic book movie that's going to lay the groundwork for Batman's absence from Gotham. Apparently a character in the movie will explicitly say that no one has seen the Dark Knight in the city for about two years, giving way for his enemies to take control over the series.

Though this new rumor should be taken with a grain of salt considering its source, it is possible that Batman would be missing from Birds of Prey. How would Harley (Margot Robbie) get to team up with her girls and do some hero work if the Bats is around? Would Batman even let Birds of Prey's crime lord rise to power if he were still around?

While some suspect that Batman could have been hurt during Birds of Prey's timeline (though it doesn't seem like Bruce Wayne would get too hurt to vanish for two years), others believe that Batman could simply be too busy working with Justice League. Or maybe he gets sent back in time after getting hit by Darkseid's Omega Beams like in Grant Morrison's comic book story. Maybe it might have something to do with the events of The Batman – maybe at the end of the movie the Dark Knight decides to hang up his cape and pass on his role on to someone else?

Let's just wait and see.
