DC FanDome is set to take place in just a few days and fans are excited to see what's to come in the virtual event. The guest list was just recently revealed, with Batman Forever's Val Kilmer among the big names. With seemingly no upcoming DC project to promote, his presence sparks hope for fans who have been curious about the recently confirmed Schumacher's cut.
Following the guest announcement, Kilmer took to Instagram to share his excitement about the event. He was told that wearing the Batsuit is optional, teasing that he might be pondering on the idea. "Well, the news is out," he wrote. "Friends at Warner Bros. asked if I'd like to be a part of DC FanDome and I asked if it meant putting on the ol' bat suit. They said it's optional. Hmmm." While it would be cool to see Kilmer don the Batsuit once more, the chances are quite slim. With his appearance on the event a surprise, some fans speculate that Kilmer could announce the Batman Forever's alternate version.
Warner Bros. confirmed that the Schumacher's cut does exist, which would have been a darker version than that of the theatrical cut, along with different sequences. That said, it's likely that Kilmer would simply honor Joel Schumacher and reminisce about his time filming the movie.
DC FanDome will take place on August 22.
