Batman Beyond was an animated show that exceeded expectations, proving to be just as good as Batman: The Animated Series; sometimes it was also better. When BTAS got its Blu-Ray a while back, fans were hoping that Batman Beyond would be next and, thankfully, that wish has come true. During the Batman Beyond panel of SDCC, it was revealed that they will finally be releasing the series on Blu-Ray and is expected to come out this October.
The Blu-Ray is an extensive remaster of this ‘90s classic, with 41 of the 52 episodes getting the full remaster treatment. Sadly, the remaining 11 will only be "smart rezzed" due to time-worn irreparable damage. Still, they have stated that it will still look better than the original episodes and the fact that we're all getting this in HD is great.
Fans will also be happy to know that there is a limited collector's edition of the Blu-Ray, which will come with an extensive number of extras. Collectibles within the stunning packaging include an exclusive chrome Batman Beyond Funko POP, and four beautifully-designed lenticular art cards produced especially for Batman Beyond: The Complete Animated Series Limited Edition. This ultimate collectors Blu-ray box set will be individually numbered for a Limited Edition release of 50,000.
