Batman #60 May Have Given Bruce His Most Shocking Enemy

When it was announced that Batman would team up with The Penguin, many of us expected some fun shenanigans but not much else. However, those that have been following the current run knows that Tom King likes to surprise people and he did so again with this week's Batman #60. King and artist Mikel Janin just unveiled a new for the Caped Crusader but it's also a character many fans are familiar with.

SPOILERS in 3...2...1…

Flashpoint Batman has joined Bruce Wayne's rogues' gallery, attacking Alfred and setting up one hell of a cliffhanger. This is pretty shocking news since Flashpoint Batman is Thomas Wayne, an alternate version of Bruce's father from the Flashpoint universe, a corrupted version of the main DCU.

Anyone who has read The Button knows that Bruce was able to meet this Batman and even got some sound advice from him. Thomas advised his son to give up being Batman and to try being happy, which the Dark Knight actually took to heart. Not only did he try being happy but Bruce also decided to propose to Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. Sadly, Selina didn't show up and Bruce has gone back to his brooding ways.

Thomas appearing here might be shocking but fans will be quick to point out that he did appear alongside Bane during Batman #50, which was supposed to be the big wedding issue. Why he would do this to his son is a question many are probably asking but most are probably wondering how Thomas survived as The Button implied that he died to save Bruce and The Flash from Flashpoint Amazons.
