It's been over a month since the shocking confirmation that Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to axe the upcoming Batgirl project starring Leslie Grace but fans are still buzzing about the canned DC Extended Universe film. According to reports, CEO David Zaslav wasn't impressed with the film and instead of just ordering it to undergo reshoots, the unfortunate decision to scrap it altogether was made.

There have been attempts from the film's cast and crew to change the production company's stance regarding the film but as per recent reports, Batgirl will never see the light of day. Now, the film's supposed villain Brendan Fraser is breaking his silence regarding the project's cancelation and his reaction will either amuse you or break your heart.

When asked by screenwriter Samuel D. Hunter during a press junket interview for their latest project The Whale what his next project was going to be, Fraser mentioned the canned DCEU film before jokingly letting out an "oh" and bursting into laughter.

You can totally tell that he's just as frustrated as his castmates but I guess Fraser has no choice but to just laugh it off because as it stands, WB Discovery has no plans of releasing Batgirl despite a potential Snyder Cut-esque movement from the fandom.

Say what you will about the project but I strongly believe fans were robbed of seeing a potentially good film. It's probably too late to reverse their decision, especially with reports claiming that WB Discovery has officially vaulted the film but I don't think putting it out on streaming would do any harm.

Batgirl was originally set for release on HBO Max this year.
