Batgirl Movie Adds Michael Keaton Reprising Role as Batman

Michael Keaton is set to make his triumphant return as Batman in the upcoming DCEU film The Flash in which we will see him take the cape again 30 years after his appearance in Batman Returns. Fans are definitely excited to see the actor come back on the role. However, there are some who are wondering if Keaton's return as Batman will just be a one-off or if it will lead to more DCEU appearances. Now, we have the official answer.

Per Screen Rant, according to the official cast list distributed by Warner Bros., Keaton is named as part of the cast members of Batgirl that is currently in production. While it didn't specifically indicate that the actor will be reprising the role of Batman, we can pretty much assume that he will be playing the Caped Crusader in the film. Of course, there's a lot of questions that come with it and there's a chance that his appearance is a result of the ramifications of the events of The Flash.

A few months ago, Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah hinted that Batman will make an appearance in the film although they didn't specify whose actor is going to play him. It looks like this is the confirmation that the film will have Keaton's version of Batman which should be a clue for us on what we should anticipate in the film and what the DCEU looks like as a result of The Flash. We can safely assume that he will be a mentor to Barbara Gordon.

The exact plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that Leslie Grace will be playing the titular role, J.K. Simmons will be returning as Commissioner Gordon (reprising his role from Justice League), and Brendan Fraser will be playing Firefly, the villain of the film. It is currently in production in Glasgow.
