It would only make sense that Director Lee decided to pick Jong-seo as the lead of Ballerina. She is, after all, the director's current girlfriend.

Jeon Jong-seo as Ok-ju
Jeon Jong-seo is reuniting with Director Lee for Ballerina. She stars as the lead character, Ok-ju, who is a former bodyguard. She is skilled at swordsmanship, firearms, and self-defense. She also rides motorcycles.
The synopsis of the film says that Ok-ju is friends with a ballerina called, Min-hee, who asks for her help in taking revenge. Without any hesitation, she risks her life for her friend.
As an actress, Jong-seo hasn't been in a lot of films and shows. Despite this, the actress has made a name for herself in the industry.
Her role in the 2020 horror film, The Call, earned her the Best Actress award in the 2021 BaekSang Arts Awards.
After that, she made waves again by starring in the Korean adaptation of the hit Netflix series, Money Heist. Jong-seo took the role of Tokyo in Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area.
Outside of Netflix, the actress starred in Bargain Kdrama and films like Burning and Nothing Serious.
Kim Ji-hoon as Choi Pro
Another actor who will be starring in Ballerina is Kim Ji-hoon, who takes the role of Choi Pro. He is the antagonist in the film, which means we will see him and Jong-seo fighting against each other throughout the movie.
Ballerina marks Ji-hoon and Jong-seo's reunion project. Like Jong-seo, Ji-hoon starred in Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area. He starred as Jong-seo's teammate, Denver.
Other than this, Ji-hoon has worked in numerous films and TV shows in South Korea. His most famous projects include Flower of Evil and Flower Boys Next Door.
He also won the Best Actor award for his role in Come! Jang Bo-Ri at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards.
The previous year, he won the Excellent Actor award for his role in Goddess of Marriage at the 2013 SBS Drama Awards.
He is also set to star in the upcoming Netflix show, Love to Hate You.
Park Yu-rim as Min-hee
Park Yu-rim stars in this film as Min-hee, the ballerina who swears revenge on Choi Pro. We will know exactly what happened between Min-hee and Choi Pro when the show premieres.
This film serves as the actress' first leading role in a Kdrama since she made her acting debut in Dxyz in 2017.
Aside from Dxyz, Yu-rim has starred in other Netflix shows such as Kingdom, My First Love, My First Love 2, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
Ballerina is Yu-rim's second movie project. Her first movie was Drive My Car, which came out in 2021.
