El Muerto is a Spider-Man villain in the comics that had very limited appearances and is best known for introducing the world of wrestling into the Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man-centric stories. Now that El Muerto is slated for next year, Spider-Man fans are in for a treat as Sony is set to introduce another character that fans have never seen.

Grammy Rapper Bad Bunny will be playing the Spider-Man anti-hero El Muerto, which marks the rapper's third acting appearance of his acting career. And in a recent interview, Bad Bunny shares the first detail about his biggest role to date.

In an interview with Apple Music, Bad Bunny shares promising detail about his casting as the lead star for Sony's upcoming film, El Muerto.

"It’s crazy. Sometimes, I can’t believe it yet, but it’s the result of my work," the Rapper said. "The way I am, the way I work, I’m so proud, very happy about this character, this opportunity to be the first Latino. It’s not about ‘I’m gonna be the first Latino making a role,’ it’s gonna be about the first Latino main character, that’s the important thing. So it’s something huge, and it will be epic. I know that the people are gonna be proud about my work."

Starring in a couple of small roles, El Muerto must be Bad Bunny's acting career peak as he is set to join Sony's expanding Spider-Verse. Along with that, El Muerto will also be the first-ever Spider-Man spinoff that centers on a unique wrestling-based hero that fans never even expected to see.

For now, we don't have much information yet about Sony's El Muerto aside from its release date, scheduled for a January 12, 2024 premiere.
