Avengers: Infinity War’s Tom Holland Says He Only Knew About (Spoiler) When It Was Filmed

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War.

Tom Holland might have played a significant role in Avengers: Infinity War but the British actor had no idea that his character, Spidey, was going to die in the first installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie.

Speaking at an event organized by The Brother's Trust (via Webbed Media), Holland went on a fun question and answer session with the event's attendees. During his discussion with the event's guests, Holland revealed that he learned about Peter's death the very same day he shot the scene with Robert Downey Jr.

Of course, Holland not knowing Spidey's fate doesn't come as a surprise. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo did everything they could to keep spoilers from leaking online.

Not only was the script kept a secret from fans, parts of the script was kept a secret from the cast as well. Last week while doing the press rounds for Infinity War, Joe Russo told fans that Holland had improvised the memorable "I don't feel so good" and "I don't want to go" lines during Spider-Man's death in the film.

Peter was one of the many to disappear after Thanos successfully collected all the Infinity Stones. However, before Spidey turned to dust, the web-slinger hung on to Iron Man, telling the Avenger that he wasn't ready to go. Peter's vulnerability touched fans, and Spider-Man's death became one of the most memorable moments in the film.

Learning that the vulnerability and fear in Spider-Man were all brought out on the spot in the film is certainly a testament to Holland's ability as an actor.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
