Avengers: Infinity War Expected To Reach Up To $2 Billion

Avengers: Infinity War has been nothing but a commercial success. Ever since its opening day, the first installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie has been breaking records.

Infinity War beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the domestic box office during its opening weekend with its $258.2 million haul. It also pushed past The Fate of the Furious at the global box office, bringing with it a total of $640.9 million.

Now, on its second week in cinemas, The Hollywood Reporter writes that analysts predict that Marvel's third Avengers movie could very well rake in $1.8 billion to $2 billion at the end of its run in theaters.

If it does reach $1.8 billion, Infinity War could become the highest-grossing summer release in Hollywood history, topping Jurassic World and its $1.672 billion earnings. The film also has the potential to top other high-grossing films like the Titanic which earned $1.843 billion at the global box office during the end of its theatrical run in 1997.

However, it's still to be seen whether Infinity War could beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens which finished its run in cinemas with $2.068 billion in the bag and Avatar which managed to rake in a whopping $2.787 billion. Infinity War definitely has the potential of going beyond $2 billion, but we'll have to wait and see.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
