Avengers: Infinity War Directors Aren’t Interested In The DCEU

It looks like Joe and Anthony Russo have no interest in directing films for the DC Extended Universe.

DC fans might have started hoping for the Russo Brother's to work their magic into the DCEU after seeing the success of Avengers: Infinity War, however, it seems like the Marvel directors aren't interested in Warner Brother's burgeoning superhero franchise in the very least.

According to Cosmic Book News, the Russo Brothers just recently attended an event in Washington DC to speak about Infinity War. There the filmmakers were asked whether there was a chance they would try and tackle any of the DCEU films.

Responding to the question, the directors turned down the idea, saying that they've always been bigger fans of Marvel than DC. According to Joe, DC's characters feel unrelatable. Heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman have so much power compared to characters like Marvel's Captain America and Iron Man, putting a gap between the heroes and the readers. Growing up in Cleveland, the Russos say they feel more connected to the underdog characters in Marvel.

However, while the directors say they aren't interested in the DCEU, Joe did mention that he finds Batman to be the most interesting character in DC. Drawn to the Dark Knight's humanity, Joe says that the Caped Crusader is the fascinating character in the Justice League.

It's definitely a shame the Russo's won't consider directing films for the DCEU. The franchise could use the Joe and Anthony's talent.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
