Avengers: Endgame Star Tom Holland Reveals Iron Man’s Death Scene Was Totally Improvised

Avengers: Endgame brought a lot of heartbreak to Marvel fans. Not only did it take away the life of Scarlet Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, but it also sacrificed the life of Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, the very first Marvel hero whose Iron Man film in 2008 sparked the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking in an interview with Screen Rant to help promote his upcoming film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel star Tom Holland opens up about Tony Stark's death scene in Endgame. According to the Spider-Man actor, Marvel executives gave all of the stars involved in Iron Man's death scene total creative freedom, the same way he and RDJ were given creative freedom in Peter Parker's death scene in Avengers: Infinity War.

Apparently, the actors involved in Iron Man's death scene (including Holland) were brought to the film's set and told what was going to happen in the scene. Then they were allowed to improvise their parts.

"It was a really interesting way to shoot such a pivotal scene, but it was amazing and the scene turned out to be fantastic," Holland said during the interview.

It did turn out pretty well. Marvel fans were heartbroken seeing Tony take his last breath with his closest loved ones around him.

Now, everyone's looking forward to seeing Spider-Man: Far From Home, a film set directly after the events of Endgame. It's definitely going to be interesting seeing Peter dealing with the loss of his only mentor as he travels abroad with his classmates. We wonder how he'll handle it.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
