While there were a few Easter Eggs placed throughout Avengers: Endgame, a lot of fans were curious about a potential nod to Namor, The Submariner. Some fans have been clamoring to see the famous character make his MCU debut, and it seems like the screenwriters have been teasing it after all.

Early in the film, Black Widow and Okoye talked about tremors that were picked up at the bottom of the ocean, but the heroes didn't deal with it, with the latter assuring Natasha that there were just earthquakes. While there weren't any other characters mentioned in the dialogue, some fans quickly speculated that it was a teaser for Namor, the ruler of the seven seas.

As fans may well know, Namor is yet to appear in an MCU movie, but the character is known to have connections with the Avengers and even the Fantastic Four. When asked if this is, in fact, a reference to The Submariner, the film's writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely had a cryptic response.

"Sometimes, you plant seeds," McFeely wrote during ComicBook.com's Endgame Quarantine Watch Party. "Sometimes, they grow."

While the screenwriters are seemingly suggesting that it is a nod to the Marvel character, Markus downplayed the idea when theories and speculations first started popping out. Claiming that they wish they were "that smart."

Although they haven't confirmed Namor's debut in the MCU yet, some fans are already excited for that time to come and they can't wait to see which actor plays The Submariner.
