Marvel fans might already be expecting a lot of heartache in Avengers: Endgame, but what do you do when one of the film's writers drops an ominous hint about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
While Marvel has been trying its best to keep a lid on the final chapter in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie, one of the movie's writers has decided to give fans an ominous little tease.
Speaking in an interview with Empire (via Comic Book Movie), Endgame co-writer Christopher Markus reveals that Endgame may not fully restore the MCU to what it was once before the arrival of Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the Decimation.
"We are in different territory, possibly than anyone's ever been in before in terms of a movie series," Markus tells the entertainment news outlet. "The MCU continues to exist. Who happens to be in it is fluid and evolving things where, because it's all connected, you can't reboot one. All the parts have to work together. Things continue, but like life, losses are real, and change is real."
Could the whole tidbit talking about losses confirm the deaths of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the Avengers team? For the longest time ever, fans have been speculating the deaths of Iron Man, Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the other members of the Avengers – not only does it make sense considering how much effort its going to take to undo Thanos' snappening, but there's also the fact that Downey Jr. and Evans' contract with the MCU is coming to an end.
