Avengers: Endgame Theory Suggests That Thanos Is Currently In A Time Loop

There is no shortage of theories on how Avengers: Endgame will deal with the catastrophe that took place in Avengers: Infinity War. But here's a new one that suggests we've already seen how the heroes will eventually win. Is it possible that Thanos is currently trapped in a lengthy time loop?

The fan theory was posted on Reddit and points out that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was the mastermind behind the final battle in Doctor Strange. In an interview, writer Jon Spaihts revealed that Feige wanted Stephen Strange to trap Dormammu in a time loop using the Eye of Agamotto. A previous theory had already stated that Strange appeared to be using the same spells in Doctor Strange while he was checking the different futures.

So is it possible that what we saw in Infinity War is a direct result of the time loop Strange had created? It's a plausible theory but some have also pointed out how it might not work. After all, the time loop in Doctor Strange would restart everytime Strange was killed by Dormammu. In addition to that, Thanos himself used the Time Stone to turn back time and retrieve the Mind Stone from Vision. For now, we would recommend taking this one with a grain of salt.

We're still uncertain about what exactly will happen in Endgame but there is a huge possibility that time travel will be a major part of the plot. There have been reports suggesting that the heroes will go back to the past as well as fast-forward to the future. Either way, we are looking forward to the survivors beating Thanos this year.

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26.
