Avengers: Endgame Theory Suggests Thanos Is Set For Redemption

People are already convinced that the heroes will finally defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. But is it possible that the Mad Titan is set for redemption in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick?

A theory posted on Reddit suggests that Thanos "will be somewhat redeemed" in Endgame considering how Marvel has usually given other villains a chance. For instance, it is mentioned that Loki started out as the bad guy in the first Thor film but gradually redeems himself in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. This could also explain why Tom Hiddleston's character was ultimately killed since it could give the MCU another possible anti-hero in Thanos.

"It seems like the MCU is doing a good job at either redeeming characters or developing a story-arc that's convenient in further movies. Thanos will be the person who done a [sic] unforgivable act, and will have to live with the gravity of his actions. He will be a [sic] 'illegal alien', literally," the theory reads.

It's a plausible theory considering that the Mad Titan could play a large role in introducing the Eternals after Endgame. Could this mean that Thanos will be captured and judged by some higher beings this year? This could be something to look forward to in April.

It is still unclear if Josh Brolin will actually continue playing Thanos after Endgame. Nevertheless, the Deadpool 2 actor seems open to the possibility so we're hoping that the Mad Titan gets a fitting judgment in the fourth Avengers film.

Avengers: Endgame will premiere on April 26.
