Avengers: Infinity War introduced a number of costume changes for the Avengers. Not only did Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) get a new nanotech Iron Man suit, but Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) also got a grittier new look, a clear nod to his alter-ego, the Nomad.
Captain America's tattered outfit and beard made the First Avenger look less of a boy scout and more of a bad boy, something that fans loved in Infinity War. It didn't come as a surprise to see fans upset when Avengers: Endgame came out revealing a clean-faced Cap.
Now, it turns out that Marvel fans weren't the only ones who wanted Cap's beard to stay on his face. There were a lot of fans of Steve's rugged look in the Marvel Cinematic Universe too.
Marvel just recently held a press conference for Avengers: Endgame in Los Angeles last Sunday (via CBR), and during the discussion moderator Jon Favreau decided to put Evan's lovely whiskers to a vote by the participating cast and crew of the upcoming film.
"I love the beard," Thor star Chris Hemsworth replied. Not quite a surprise knowing that the Asgardian God of Thunder sports facial hair himself.
"I prefer bearded Cap," Evans admitted as well. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo joined in on his endorsement, as well as his co-stars Brie Larson, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Don Cheadle.
Meanwhile, those who weren't overly fond of the beard included Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige as well as Marvel stars Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, and Paul Rudd.
