Star-Lord might have lost the love of his life in Avengers: Infinity War, but in real life, it looks like Peter Quill star Chris Pratt just managed to nab his own queen. Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt just recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
Taking to Instagram, Pratt let his fans and followers know about his engagement, putting up a picture of himself with Schwarzenegger showing off her new ring. Short but sentimental, Pratt's post celebrates the thrill of the engagement.
"Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes," the Marvel star wrote in his post on the social media site. "I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"
This is another big step in Schwarzenegger and Pratt's relationship. The daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shiver had been dating Pratt since June last year, so this engagement seems to be a rather quick jump. This is also Pratt's first relationship since his divorce with Anna Faris back in November 2017.
However, while some fans might be a bit concerned for both parties, a source close to the couple told People that "they're both serious about the relationship and hopeful for the future," and that "Chris doesn't just date to date, and neither does Katherine. She's very excited."
This is certainly going to be a big year for Pratt, in terms of his personal life and in terms of his career. Not only is Pratt planning to settle down with Schwarzenegger, but he's also set to have a big year at the box office, reprising his role as Star-Lord in Avengers: Endgame and as Emmet in The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
