Avengers: Endgame Star Chris Hemsworth Planning To Take A Break From Acting

Marvel fans might be excited to see Chris Hemsworth return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play everyone's favorite Asgardian God of Thunder, but it looks like the Thor: Ragnarok star might be taking a year off of acting to rest after the release of his latest film, Men in black: International.

Speaking in an interview with Australia's version of the Daily Telegraph newspaper (via ABC Montana), Hemsworth reveals his plans to take a break from acting, saying that he's going to take the advantage of his free time and reconnect with his family.

"This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids," the actor explained during his interview with the paper, "They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before. I have this year where I'm probably not going to shoot anything. I have a press tour, a few endorsements and bits and pieces, but mostly just be home. If you went back 10 years and asked me what would be my dream scenario, this is kind of it. I can now sit back, enjoy and appreciate it, and stop chasing [movies]."

Hemsworth deserves a break. The actor's been pretty busy the past few years, working on films like Thor: Ragnarok and the back to back productions of the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie (Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame). There's also Men in Black: International.

Besides, Hemsworth has a lot of time before his potential appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Director James Gunn isn't going to work on the project until he fulfills his obligation with DC and the DCEU's Suicide Squad 2.

He ought to spend some time with his family.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
