Avengers: Endgame Set Photo Reveals Chris Evans on His Last Day as Captain America

Avengers: Endgame officially retired several MCU mainstays from Tony Stark to Steve Rogers. Chris Evans has officially put the shield down for Captain America, and we have a look at his last day on set as the character.

This comes from Robert Downey Jr.'s assistant Jimmy Rich:

By the looks of it, Evans' last day has him working on the final battle scene with Thanos, that's why the bottom of his face is all dirty.

While everyone was expecting Captain America to make the ultimate sacrifice in Endgame, I think it's pretty great that they made him come back to the past and live his life with Peggy. For someone who always does the right thing, I thought Cap deserved a happy ending. I mean, Tony Stark didn't deserve to die, but I guess he was able to live out five years of his life with his family intact.

Going back to Steve though, I just wonder how awkward it's going to be when he reveals that he made out with Peggy's future niece, Sharon Carter.

While Chris Evans has put down the shield, I'm kind of hoping we get small cameos from his Old Man Steve Rogers in the future. I have a feeling he's going to be a shadow in the Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, and what are the odds he has some moments in a Captain America movie where Mackie is now the star?

For now, catch Captain America one last time in Avengers: Endgame still in theaters.
