There's a lot of big films lined up for next year but it looks like Avengers: Endgame has become the most anticipated movie of 2019.
Fandango just recently put up a poll on its site, and according to a press release sent out by the ticketing company, the second installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie just topped its list of films that everyone's looking forward to next year.
Star Wars: Episode IX also made the list, but it came down to third place right after Endgame and Captain Marvel. It might come as a surprise to Star Wars fans that the third and final film in the sequel trilogy got beat, but Endgame serves as the culmination of the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel fans have been eager to learn about what's to come after Avengers: Infinity War – how exactly will Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) be able to undo Thanos' dusty massacre in Endgame? Will they use the Quantum Realm through Ant-Man (Scott Lang)? Will Captain America really sacrifice himself in the movie?
It's no surprise that Endgame's become the most highly anticipated film of 2019.
Of course, that's not the only win for Marvel. Fandango just listed Captain Marvel's Brie Larson as 2019's most anticipated actress of the year. Tom Hanks (Mr. Rogers in the upcoming A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and the voice of Woody in Disney's Toy Story 4 ) has also been listed as the most anticipated actor of the year.
