Avengers: Endgame Foreign Voice Actor Says Rocket Is Now Gloomier And More Brooding

Avengers: Endgame's trailers have been teasing a darker and heavier tone for the final chapter in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie – and rightfully so. Not only did the Avengers experience defeat at the hands of Thanos, but they also lost so many loved ones in the process.

Things are especially heavy for Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper), one of the two remaining members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only did he lose teenage Groot (Vin Diesel) who's very much like a son to him, Rocket also finds himself the only Guardian left on earth at the beginning of Endgame.

Speaking with Unocero (via Heroic Hollywood) about his role playing the foreign voice of Rocket Racoon in the highly anticipated Marvel movie, Mexican actor Sergio Zurita discusses the character's frame of mind as we enter the Avengers: Infinity War sequel.

"The movie looks intense, good. Rocket is in another state of mind," Zurita said. "Rocket is always angry and throwing a bullet and now Rocket is brooding. Moreover, there is a time when Rocket is so sad that he does not care to be told in certain ways that it bothers him that they always tell him."

This is devastating for those who've followed Rocket's development in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Rocket has always been cynical and angry, but in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Rocket finally understood what it meant to have people to lean on to, to be vulnerable with.

It seems like the loss of his surrogate family is going to bring out a different side to Rocket, one that we've only seen in a few short moments in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
