Avengers: Endgame Fan Possibly Exposed Fellow Moviegoers To Measles During California Screening

Some fans would do just about anything to watch Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately, in the case of one woman, she inadvertently exposed her fellow moviegoers to measles while watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

According to NBC San Diego, the woman had attended the midnight screening of Avengers: Endgame at the AMC Theater on Thursday, April 25 in Fullerton, California. The woman, who had just arrived from an international trip, had somehow exposed other moviegoers to measles between 11 p.m. in the evening until 4 a.m. She is currently under quarantine after being diagnosed and is considered infectious from April 23 to May 1.

The Orange County Health Care Agency is calling on all moviegoers who attended the same screening to check their vaccination history and notify their health providers, especially if they haven't had measles before.

AMC Fullerton employee Carlee Greer-McNeill was shocked to learn about the incident. "The last place I would ever expect it was at my job. I wasn't even expecting Orange County," she said.

She also issued a plea for anyone who believes they might be exposed to measles to avoid public places. "People, if you know you have the measles, please don't come to a movie theater, let alone a public place," Greer-McNeill said.

Measles symptoms include inflamed eyes, a runny nose, and a high fever. You may also experience an unexplained rash seven to 21 days after being exposed.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
