Avengers: Endgame Almost Featured Surprising New Villain

There is little doubt that Avengers: Endgame was filled to the brim with characters who all needed to get their own space in the plot. However, a new image confirms that the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick almost brought back some of the most interesting villains from the previous movies.

The revelation comes from Marvel concept artist Jerad Merantz, who shared some art he made for Endgame. Interestingly, the photos confirm that the Frost Giants from Thor were supposed to show up in the film. Check it out below.

"Here's one for the cutting room floor. Here are some new takes on the Frost Giants that I did for #avengersendgame. In the final battle, They were considering bringing these guys back. In this concept I am exploring the idea of having them utilize their ice power to generate armor," Merantz wrote.

It's disappointing to know that the Frost Giants almost showed up in Endgame but had to be removed. After all, they were the main villains who went up against the God of Thunder in Thor. In addition to that, they are connected to Thor's brother Loki, who has already been confirmed to be a Frost Giant. However, it's also understandable why they had to be cut out from the sequel.

We're not sure how the Frost Giants could have played into Endgame but it's possible that they may have allied themselves with Thanos and the Black Order in the final battle. Nevertheless, it was a good call for the Russo brothers to focus on the Big Bad from Avengers: Infinity War instead.
