Avengers 4 Directors Tell Mark Ruffalo He’s 'Still Fired' From Marvel

Mark Ruffalo might have a point when he took to Twitter to imply that the Russo Brothers gave away a spoiler when they released that cryptic photo celebrating the end of production for Avengers 4 last week, but according to the filmmakers, the Marvel star's still pretty much fired.

For those who haven't been following Marvel news the past few weeks, the entire story between Ruffalo and the Russo brothers began when the Hulk actor appeared on The Tonight Show.

"Accidentally" letting slip a few spoilers for Avengers 4 including the official title of the Infinity War sequel, Ruffalo decided to take the joke to Twitter by begging The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon to censor his spoilers from the episode. Joe and Anthony Russo caught wind of Ruffalo's boo-boos and decided to "fire" the Marvel star ahead of Avengers 4's big premiere.

This week, after completing production on Avengers 4, the filmmakers decided to post a cryptic image on Twitter, a post that Ruffalo pointed out was a spoiler in its own right.

The Russo Brother's response? "You're still fired, Mark."

Of course, fans know that all these alleged "spoilers" and "leaked titles" are actually the Russo Brothers and Ruffalo's way of trolling the fanbase. There's no way that the Russos would fire the Marvel star over fake titles. It's all really part of the show, adding hype to the upcoming Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 is set to premiere on May 4, 2019.
