Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Netflix Crew Provides New Update

Avatar: The Last Airbender fans were pretty excited when word came out that Netflix was planning to work on a live-action remake of the series together with the show's original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. However, it's been months since we've gotten any news about the project. Luckily, we finally have an update.

Discussing Film just recently took to Twitter to update fans on Netflix's plans for Avatar: The last Airbender. The publication just recently spoke with composer Jeremy Zuckerman, and it looks like the musician's rather optimistic about the project.

Though Zuckerman didn't give away too much about the live-action version of Avatar, he did say the series had a bit to go before he'd start working in the studio.

"I can say that I haven't started yet. I think there is a ways to go. I know Bryan [DiMartino] posted people were hitting up like crazy about casting," Zuckerman said.

Apparently, the team are doing their best to give fans the live-action series they deserve.

"I'm really excited about. We're really excited about it. Netflix seems really on-board and supportive. I think they're really committed to getting it right," the composer went on before adding, "It feels nice to have that support."

Seeing how active the team has been, we're hoping that we get casting news soon. DiMartino and Konietzko are dedicated to making the live-action adaptation as faithful to the series and in a previous statement the two stressed that they just couldn't wait to "realize Aang's world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast."

Avatar: The Last Airbender has yet to receive a release date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
