Attack on Titan Star Joins One Piece Film: Red in Mysterious New Role


There are only a few weeks left before the premiere of One Piece Film: Red but we're actually learning new things about the highly anticipated movie. The latest news about Red reveals the voice actors for two new characters who will appear in the film and one of them just happens to be one of the lead stars of Attack on Titan!

The official One Piece Film: Red Twitter account shared the news confirming that Attack on Titan star Yuki Kaji is joining the cast of the upcoming movie. Kaji will be playing a shepherd boy named Yorueka who travels a long way to see Uta in concert.

In addition to Kaji, the young actor Chise Niitsu has joined the cast. Niitsu will portray Romy, a poor young girl who is a huge fan of Uta and finds a way to attend the singer's concert.

It was previously confirmed One Piece Film: Red will feature a new pirate crew known as the Jellyfish Pirates who will be led by Captain Eboshi, who will be played by Yuki Yamada. Japanese comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, Soshina and Seiya, will portray Hanagasa and Kaginote, respectively.

It's great to know that there will be more awesome characters to meet in One Piece Film: Red. It has already been confirmed that the movie will center around Uta, who will be played by Kaori Nazuka. The most recent addition to the cast had been Kenjiro Tsuda, who will provide the voice of Gordon.

The movie will also star Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, Kazuki Yao as Franky, Cho as Brook, and Katsuhisa Hoki as Jimbei.

One Piece Film: Red will be released in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2022. The international release dates are set for Fall 2022.
