The first movie, The Meg, is rated PG-13 for “action/peril, bloody images and some language.” Thus, the movie contains some content that may not be suitable for children under 13 years of age, and “PG” or “Parental Guidance” is needed.

Since The Meg deals with characters trying not to get eaten by a shark, the movie contains some violence and bloody scenes due to the shark attacks.

Humans get attacked and eaten by the Meg, so there’s definitely some blood in the film. There’s also an accidental stabbing and a display of injuries.

Parents are urged to be cautious in PG-13 movies as the films have some content that may be inappropriate for younger ages. So, parents have to be cautious when letting their kids watch The Meg.

While some thought that Meg 2: The Trench would be rated R, it isn't. Just like the first movie, Meg 2: The Trench is rated PG-13.

Director Ben Wheatley said that Meg 2 is more about "summer thrills, rather than gory thrills." Additionally, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said that the sequel "is probably funnier" and "there's certainly some big laughs in it."

However, it must be noted that Meg 2: The Trench is rated PG-13 for "action/violence, some bloody images, language and brief suggestive material."

In the film, there are lots of scenes where people get eaten by a Meg. A Meg also eats a dinosaur.

In the sequel, there are not just attacks between humans and sharks, but also bloody violence in a battle between different creatures.

So, with the PG-13 rating of The Meg movies, parents are advised to be cautious as the movies contain some content that may not be appropriate for kids.
