Aquaman’s Jason Momoa Transforms Into Wolverine Villain Sabretooth In New Image

The odds of seeing Aquaman star Jason Momoa as the new Wolverine might be low, but what about seeing the Game of Thrones actor as a Wolverine villain?

Now that X-Men: Dark Phoenix has finally premiered, the future of the X-Men franchise is finally in Marvel's fans. Waiting for the reboot of the mutant franchise, fans have been picking out actors that might be able to take Hugh Jackman's place as the X-Men's James Hawlett. Momoa has been a popular contender for the role, however, odds are low that he'll actually be taking on the role considering how successful the actor has been playing Arthur Curry in the DC Extended Universe.

Taking this into consideration, popular digital artist BossLogic has decided to imagine Momoa in a different role, this time as Sabretooth, one of Wolverine's many villains. For those who aren't familiar with the character, Sabretooth is a mutant with bestial superhuman abilities, a rapid healing factor, razor-sharp claws and fangs, as well as superhuman senses.

In the X-Men film franchise built by Fox, Sabretooth was first portrayed by Tyler Mane. Lieve Schreiber later took on the role in the franchise's X-Men: Origins Wolverine.

The Aquaman star can really pull off the look, however, Momoa has already expressed interest in the Wolverine role. Speaking with fans at the 2019 Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Momoa was asked which Marvel hero he'd ever want to play. His answer? Of course. Wolverine.

Unfortunately, the actor may not have the time to play the part considering his role in the DCEU.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is currently screening in cinemas.
