Aquaman Statues Give Us Good Look at the Classic Costume and Ocean Master

The DCEU may have gone on hiatus after Justice League, but the franchise is set to make its comeback with Aquaman this December. Though official photos that have come out don't really give too much away about the movie, some statues give us a good look at Aquaman in his classic outfit as well as the villain Ocean Master.

Though I was already fine with the armored look that Aquaman was rocking in Justice League, this statue is embracing his appearance from the comics—complete with the Aquaman logo on his belt. In previous movies, Aquaman is seen wielding a quindent, but here he's holding the king's signature trident. I have no doubt at some point he'll lose his hand and end up with that sick hook hand like in the comics.

Looking at Ocean Master, though, his outfit looks to be cut from the same cloth as Aquaman. He's usually depicted as covered in more armor in the comics, but you have to love that helmet that he's wearing.

We still haven't seen both Aquaman and Ocean Master wearing these outfits in the trailers, but I'm actually fine with DC holding off any reveals until the actual movie comes out.

With Justice League ending up a critical and commercial bomb, a lot of people are looking at Aquaman to get the DCEU back on its feet. If Aquaman doesn't pan out though, they have two more tries with films like Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984 set to come out next year.

Here's hoping we don't have to wait too long for the next DC hit.

Aquaman hits theaters Dec. 21.
