Uncertainty fills the air in the DC Universe as the franchise's new leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran are reportedly set to hit the reboot button and completely reset the timelines. Rumor has it that not everyone in the DCU's current roster will be part of their revamped vision and last year, we've pretty much proven that with Henry Cavill's shocking ousting as Superman.

Even his co-actors Gal Gadot and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's status are shrouded in mystery, with the Black Adam star recently confirming that he won't be involved during the franchise's early years under the Gunn and Safran regime.

Now, a hot new rumor claims that another beloved DCU mainstay could be getting the boot soon as the franchise takes a different creative approach. But there's a catch, they're reportedly joining another universe.

Giant Freakin Robot reports that the Aquaman star is in final talks to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to the outlet's sources, Momoa's career in the DCU is pretty much "up in the air", despite his film being the only DCU flick to hit $1 billion at the box office.

Momoa has been on Team DC since day one but that's not to say that a jump to the MCU is out of the question, especially since he's a huge fan of the comics. Now, regarding his status in the DC Universe, rumors have been persistent that Jason will remain in the franchise but instead of continuing his journey as Arthur Curry, he's reportedly getting recast as the cosmic bounty hunter Lobo.

Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit cinemas on December 25, 2023.
