The DC Extended Universe as we know it is coming to a close and fans are hopeful that the franchise will at least end on a high note the same way it started over a decade ago.

However, it looks like the DCEU's final offering before the reboot commences, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will deliver the same disappointing results as the likes of Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle had and according to a new report, things aren't looking all that promising for the Jason Momoa-led sequel.

According to Grace Randolph, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom recently ran free screenings perhaps to test the waters with fans and critics and it reportedly didn't go well, with some of the viewers allegedly leaving the cinema before they could even finish the film.

The scooper didn't go into detail regarding the fans' alleged departure but MyTimeToShineHello took to Twitter to confirm that the incident did occur.

Now, we don't know for sure what led to the viewers walking out of the screenings but we'd like to assume that it's one of two things. Either the fans thought the film was so bad that they no longer felt the need to sit through its entirety or maybe it's because of the inclusion of Amber Heard.

If the reports are actually true, it's a complete shame because the film was deemed enjoyable that it ended up bringing the DCEU its first only billion-dollar triumph at the box office to date.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits cinemas on December 20.
