Aquaman 2: All of Amber Heard's Scenes Have Reportedly Been Removed

The past week was a huge turning point for the life and career of Amber Heard as she lost the multi-million defamation case her former husband Johnny Depp filed against her. While the actress made it clear that she's appealing the case, there's been ongoing speculation with regard to her future as an actress, especially in the DC Extended Universe.

Last April, it was reported by multiple sources that the 36-year-old star's role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been reduced to less than 10 minutes. During the height of the highly-publicized Virginia trial, Amber validated the said reports and even stated that Warner Bros. and DC Films want her out of the franchise, something that was later confirmed by Walter Hamada himself.

Now, just days after the verdict has been reached, a new report claims that Amber's scenes were completely cut from the DCEU sequel. On Twitter, insider KC Walsh posted a text conversation with an anonymous tipster who told him that WB held a meeting concerning the actress' future in the Aquaman franchise, confirming that she's no longer part of the project.

Right now, it would be safe to assume that the film will once again undergo some reshoots with Heard no longer involved. It's also worth noting that it wasn't specified whether or not Mera will be written off in the film. With Aquaman 2's release date being pushed back to March 2023, there's still plenty of time for WB and DC Films to come up with something. The next couple of months should be interesting.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's theatrical release has been rescheduled to March 17, 2023.
