OLM’s The Apothecary Diaries anime is based on the original light novel series of the same name by Natsu Hyuga. Technically, the series began as a novel published on the user-generated Shosetsuka ni Naro website.
As happens with many successful titles on this website, the series was picked up as a light novel by a major publishing company. Soon after, the series was adapted into two manga series.
The first manga is illustrated by Nekokurage, and it is serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan. Meanwhile, the second is illustrated by Minoji Kurata and serialized in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X.
Both manga are based on the original light novel series, though there are some key differences. Chiefly, the art styles of the two titles are different.
How the story is told also differs between the two, with the Nekokurage version generally having a faster pace.
Most fans of the anime who got into the manga have begun reading the Nekokurage version. This is because this version is officially distributed in English by Square Enix.

When Do New Apothecary Diaries Manga Chapters Come Out?
As the manga is serialized in Monthly Big Gangan, The Apothecary Diaries manga by Nekokurage gets a new chapter every month.
Typically, the Monthly Big Gangan magazine gets a new issue near the end of each month, typically around the 25th. Sometimes, more than one Apothecary Diaries chapter also gets released.
These new chapters are also released in English on Manga UP! soon after the new issue is released in Japan, though each chapter is split into multiple parts on this platform.
The Apothecary Diaries Chapter 69 Release Date Details
The latest Monthly Big Gangan issue came out in Japan on the 25th. Thus, The Apothecary Diaries Chapter 69 was released on January 25 in Japan. Following this, the chapter’s first two parts were released on Manga UP!
For now, the chapter’s English version is not yet complete, though Manga UP! confirmed in its listing that the next part of the chapter will be released on February 2, 2024.
