Ant-Man Director Shares Touching BTS Photo of Late Kirk Douglas

The world is still mourning the recent passing of Kirk Douglas and several celebrities have been sharing some truly touching stories about the screen legend. Not surprisingly, Ant-Man and The Wasp director Peyton Reed decided to share a behind-the-scenes photo of Douglas from the time that he visited them on the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

Reed shared the image on his official Twitter account. Check it out below.

"April 2017, Beverly Hills. Kirk Douglas presides over Michael's first Ant-Man suit fitting for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP," Reed wrote.

It's a sweet image that confirms how close the late Douglas was to his son Michael Douglas, who played Hank Pym in the MCU flick. Luckily, fans could get a glimpse of that bond through Reed's photo.

Kirk Douglas was born Issur Danielovitch on December 9, 1916. Although his life started out in poverty, he would get his first acting job in the 1946 film The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. The role led to several movies including 1949's Champion, which gave Douglas his first Academy Award nomination. He is best known for films like Spartacus, Lust for Life, and Paths of Glory.

Douglas passed away on February 5, 2020, at the age of 103. He was one of the last surviving stars of the Golden Age of Cinema.
