While many MCU fans are outright disappointed with Emma Fuhrmann being replaced by Kathryn Newton for Cassie Lang’s role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Newton seems to be doing well on her own in the threequel, seeing as she’s getting along with Paul Rudd and the others. Shockingly, even with MCU’s Captain Marvel actress, Brie Larson.
Recently speaking with Variety, when Newton was asked how her preparation for her Cassie Lang audition went, the actress told the story of how she got the opportunity to meet Larson ahead of her acceptance for the Ant-Man 3 role. Check out her full quote below:
“It’s kind of funny. I met Brie Larson one time and I hope it’s okay I’m saying it, but I looked at her and I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m up for this Marvel role. This is really weird that I’m meeting you.’” Newton said, “And [Brie Larson]’s like, ‘If I can say anything to you, it’s be patient.’ And I did wait awhile — and I just got a random call with an offer!”

Newton continued on to say: “I think timing is everything. I don’t know who [got me Cassie Lang’s role but], I’ve got to thank Brie Larson for telling me to keep patient because it was really good advice.”
Now, as for Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel 2 return, Marvel Studios’ official social media platforms recently announced shocking news of The Marvels being delayed from their theatrical release. Instead of their original July 2023 premiere date, the Captain Marvel sequel is scheduled to be released in November.
It remains unclear as to why The Marvels had to be pushed back, but I’m guessing it’s Marvel’s plan of decreasing their releases overtime to prevent superhero fatigue of their fans and audiences. On that note, it’s gratifying to see how Larson is helping her co-workers before they even get to work together. Newton is seemingly in good hands.
The Marvels is now scheduled to premiere on November 10, 2023. Meanwhile, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is now showing in theaters worldwide.
