Pedro Pascal was first Din Djarin in The Mandalorian before he became Joel in The Last of Us. And as the post-apocalyptic drama goes along, Pascal may gain another member of his Mandalorian family to join him on HBO Max’s current hit drama. The video game it was adapted from was released in 2013 and immediately became a fan favorite. Now, a decade later, the television adaptation has captivated both fans and newcomers alike. The Last of Us recently concluded its first season, leaving not just viewers excited but other actors who might want to appear in the second season of the show.
Emily Swallow, the actress who played the Armorer in The Mandalorian, has a very profitable card up her sleeve when it comes to joining The Last of Us. Swallow, it turns out, is no stranger to the world of The Last of Us, having played minor antagonist Emily in the video game The Last of Us Part II, and with the show's announced second season confirmed to cover events from the aforementioned game, now is the time to welcome Swallow back into the fold.
Swallow revealed her wish to join Pascal on the Last of Us call sheet in an interview with SlashFilm. The actress stated unequivocally that she would be interested in playing a role in the second season, with the added desire that this hypothetical role is not introduced and killed off in the same breath.
“Oh my gosh. So many people keep asking me this. So I really hope that somebody will hear one of these interviews, read one of these interviews ... because I would love to. I wouldn't mind playing a role that maybe got to stick around a little bit longer because of what I did in the game ... granted, it was a really fun little bit part, but I wouldn't mind playing somebody else who maybe lives longer and gets to have a scene with Pedro [Pascal] since now we're on a roll between 'The Mentalist' and ['The Mandalorian'].” she said.
Swallow's appropriately titled video game character didn't last long. In the original game, Emily is a member of the Seraphites, a cult that ambushes protagonist Abby Anderson to sacrifice her. Yara, another Seraphite prisoner, saves Abby and kills Emily with Abby's help, beginning and finishing Swallow's Last of Us Part II appearance in the blink of an eye.
