Anna Paquin Wants To Play Rogue Again In The X-Men Franchise

Anna Paquin might have won an Academy Award when she was eleven years old for the performance she gave in The Piano, but the actress is mostly known for her role as Rogue in the X-Men franchise. Now, the True Blood star reveals that she's very open to returning as the ability-absorbing mutant in the new X-Men films, though she doesn't really think that she's going to be given the chance to play Rogue again.

Paquin just recently spoke with Variety to help promote her upcoming British drama movie Tell It To The Bees and during her interview with the publication, the actress was asked whether or not she'd work on another X-Men movie.

"If there was a way that it made sense for my character to be in the world, of course. I feel like that's my film family because I've been making those movies since I was 16," Paquin gushed.

Unfortunately, the rebooted timeline of the franchise might make it a bit difficult for Paquin to make another appearance in the X-Men franchise, and the actress pretty much knows how complicated it's going to be.

"There's been so many spinoffs and reboots and TV shows," she said, "so I'm not sure where Rogue or the other original characters fit into the current plotlines. It's probably not going to happen."

Of course, there might be a chance that Simon Kinberg might bring Paquin's Rogue back in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but with fan-favorite mutants like Cyclops and Jean Grey getting recast in X-Men: Apocalypse, the role might be given to someone else.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix makes its way to cinemas in theatres on February 14, 2019.
