Anime Fans Rejoice! Pokemon The Movie: The Power of Us is Keeping the Japanese Soundtrack

These days, it's pretty popular for dubbed anime to keep the Japanese soundtrack since trying to make new music can be controversial with fans. While there have been a few good dub soundtracks - Bruce Faulconer's Dragon Ball Z score immediately comes to mind - most of them have been pretty bad. Thankfully, the English dub of Pokemon The Movie: The Power of Us will be keeping the original music.

A lot of fans are relieved by this since Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You has one of the most generic soundtracks ever made. Fans who checked out the Japanese dub heard much better music compared to those that saw the English dub, which ended up being disappointing. The animation was still great and even the voice acting was good but the music just sucked.

No one knows why Pokemon International keeps changing the soundtrack for the English dub, which has weakened not only I Choose You but the actual anime. This wouldn't be a problem if the music was good but that just isn't the case. Say what you will about 4Kids but at least they had that iconic theme song.

Pokemon The Movie: The Power of Us is a sequel to I Choose You, telling the story of how this version of Ash will meet Lugia. Ash was able to meet Ho-Oh in the last game so it was natural to male Lugia the legendary for the sequel. The film will be showing in select theaters now.
