Angelina Jolie filed a request to disclose the 53-page report from the FBI about the 2016 altercation that led to her and Brad Pitt's split. However, sources close to the Ad Astra actor questioned her motives.

Angelina Jolie Reportedly Inflicting Harm To Ex Brad Pitt By Revisiting Already Resolved Issue

Sources who knew Brad Pitt speculated that Angelina Jolie wanted to hurt her ex-husband by revisiting the issue that led to their divorce nearly six years ago. She requested a Freedom of Information Act to disclose the report, which has since been leaked this week.

An insider claimed that the issue was resolved a long time ago, and the Changeling star only meant to revive it to hurt Pitt.

"What are the motivations of a person to take up court time and public resources in filing an anonymous FOIA request for material they have had for years? There's only one: to inflict the most amount of pain on her ex. There is no benefit to this. It is harmful to the children and the entire family for this to be made public," the anonymous source told People.

The tipster added that the issue "was resolved six years ago."

"They investigated it. They prepared materials, reviewed it together and decided not to charge him," the insider said.

Several anonymous sources echoed the same sentiment to different outlets.

"All parties have had this information for nearly six years and was used in previous legal proceedings. There is nothing new here and serves no purpose other than to afflict pain," an unnamed tipster told E! News.

Another insider claimed that Jolie and her team were desperate to find something against Pitt when he was already cleared. And the celebrity mom allegedly had copies of the full report as the FBI sent her and Pitt all the documents pertaining to the incident.

"Angelina and her team have been desperately trying to find something. This is all for show," an anonymous source told Page Six. "This is all information that she already had five and half years ago. There is nothing new here."

FBI Report About Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's Airplane Braw Is Reportedly 'Not Factual'

Several outlets have reported the details of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's "verbal and physical" altercation aboard the plane when they were travelling from France to the United States in 2016. The documents reflected Jolie's allegations against her ex-husband, who allegedly assaulted her, which he denied.

While it's easy to believe the reports and quicker to just agree with the outlets, an insider close to Pitt reminded the others that what they read from the FBI report or heard from media referencing the report was "not factual" because what was written there was Jolie's account of the incident, which didn't necessarily mean to be facts, the source said.

"This is not a factual document. This is what she claimed happened," the source told People. "It was investigated and there were no charges brought. It's standard for these types of things to not be released."
