Andy Serkis Reportedly Eyed for Role in Matt Reeves' The Batman

Matt Reeves' The Batman seems to be shaping up nicely, especially now that we have our Bruce Wayne in Robert Pattinson. Fans are still waiting to see who the main villain will be, especially with rumors claiming that it will either be Joker or the Batman Forever duo of Penguin and Catwoman. Well, this is just a rumor but Batman On Film is claiming that Black Panther and Star Wars star Andy Serkis is being eyed for a role.

The role itself wasn't revealed but Serkis' involvement shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. After all, the actor expressed interest in having a role in the movie and he has worked with Reeves before, usually to a lot of success. Does anyone remember the Planet of the Apes movies that came out recently? Reeves directed them and Serkis was the star.

Fans probably have a lot of roles in mind for Serkis, whether it be Scarecrow, The Riddler, or Doctor Hugo Strange. There are a lot of Batman characters for Serkis to play and we all know that he is going to do well, assuming this rumor is true of course. We'll have to wait for some official confirmation before we start fan-casting but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of speculation.

Let's just all hope for good things yeah?

The Batman comes to theaters on June 25, 2021.
