I think it goes without saying that Andrew Garfield will always be associated with Spider-Man and while his portrayal of the character initially earned mixed reactions, webheads have grown to appreciate his style through the years. Now, with rumors of him joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home, some fans believe the British star is also ready to take on other comic book projects.

Well, this may sound crazy to some of you but people have actually been fan-casting Garfield to be the Joker in Matt Reeves' The Batman. An interesting choice for sure but given his wide acting range, it's a part he can definitely pull off under the right circumstances.

As intriguing as the idea sounds, however, Garfield doesn't seem interested in becoming the Clown Prince of Crime to Robert Pattinson's version of the caped crusader. In a new feature on GQ's YouTube channel, the star of Netflix's Tick, Tick... Boom! immediately rejected the concept and said he's not the right actor to play the part. Responding to Twitter user @GhengisKhan17, Garfield said: "Sweet of you to think that it's possible. But I don't think I could ever do it."

In other news, less than a month before Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas, Andrew is still playing the Marvel secrecy game and it doesn't look like he's ready to surrender just yet. Still, that's not going to make fans think otherwise regarding his true involvement in the film because as it stands, all signs point to his and Tobey Maguire's return.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
