Andor Showrunner Reveals Ambitious Plan for the Last Three Episodes

The second season of the Star Wars series Andor is expected to be its final run. Unlike the first season, the sophomore installment will be covering four years leading up to the events of Rogue One, where the audience met Cassian Andor for the first time.

Since the final season will now be closer to the movie than ever before, there have been questions about how they are going to connect to Rogue One and the tie-ins that they will do whether it's returning characters or familiar elements that we've seen in the movie.

In an interview with Empire, showrunner Tony Gilroy shared his ambitious plan for the show's final season. He revealed that the last three episodes will be covering "the last three days before Rogue One."

In case you forgot, when we met Cassian in the movie, he was already a Rebel Alliance intelligence officer and met with a source to learn about Bodhi Rook's defection from the Empire and the existence of the Death Star.

It is safe to say that he'll have that position by the time we're on the last block of three episodes of the series and we will be seeing the behind-the-scenes on how the Rebel Alliance was gathering information about the Empire's next big move.

"The risks this season will take are very different," star Diego Luna promised in the interview.

Gilroy added, "Look, man, I’m not trying to make a career here; if anything I’m on the downhill side of a long career. But this is an opportunity."

"This is 1,500 pages of the most dynamic material in these people’s lives to deal with. We got it right the first time, and you don’t want to let your foot off the gas."

This is certainly an interesting idea on how they are going to conclude the series and it follows the pattern of what they usually do in the series where they have three blocks of episodes dedicated to a certain story arc.

Hopefully, the series will be able to stick the landing and, as we've seen in the first season, there is a lot of hope that Gilroy and his team will be able to craft a satisfying conclusion for the acclaimed series.
