Amon Amarth Reveals New Magic: The Gathering God Card From Kaldheim

Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth has partnered with Wizards of the Coast to reveal the first Modal Double-Faced Cards (MDFC) god card from the upcoming Magic: The Gathering Viking themed set, Kaldheim.

Amon Amarth has released a video on their Facebook page revealing one of the official previews for Kaldheim. The mythic rare card they revealed is called Halvar, God of Battle // Sword of the Realms.

The front side is a 4/4 white legendary god creature can give all enchanted or equipped creatures you control double strike. It also lets you attach target Aura or Equipment card from a creature you control to another creature you control at the beginning of each combat. Sword of the Realms is a legendary Equipment that can give you creature +2+0 and Vigilance, and whenever the creature it equip dies, you can return it to its owner's hand.

It's not surprising to see MDFCs in Kaldheim since Wizards previously confirmed that the next two sets after Zendikar Rising will feature them. Halvar is a strong card made for Equipment-focused decks, and it's interesting to see that the back sides of the MDFCs of Kaldheim are Equipments instead of Lands.

Amon Amarth's collaboration with Wizards is part of Kaldheim's Week of Metal sneak peek this week.
